Our President of the Thames Valley Catenians 2026 / 27 is Martin Robins. Here is introducing himself:
I have been a member of Wokingham Circle since 2002, following in the footsteps of my father, John Robins, who co-founded the Circle in 1982. After various roles in Wokingham Circle, including Circle President 2017–18, I served as Provincial Vice President before taking on the role of Provincial President this April.
The role of Province is primarily to support Circles, in particular through recruitment and retention of members. During my year as Provincial President, I am visiting each of the 17 Circles in Province 8, which stretches from West London to Newbury (east to west) and from Northampton to Wokingham (north to south). I bring with me ideas and suggestions to make each Circle as attractive as it can be to prospective new members, and take away ideas which I can share on my next visit. Of course, I also have the added bonus of enjoying some nice food, great company… and maybe a glass of wine or two.
Outside of the Catenians: I have been married to Caroline for 32 years and have three adult daughters. I work full time for UBS Investment Bank in the City, where I am a Risk Change manager, having spent most of my career as a front line Credit Risk Officer and team leader before a move into change management.
I am on the right in the red hat, alongside my brother preparing to watch England win the Women's Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham. Three of my favourite things in one photo: family, rugby and beer! Adding in the Catenians, the final item on my list of key interests is partaking in the annual Parish pantomime — pictures of me in full Panto Dame costume are available on request…
Here you'll find my diary for the months ahead — a straightforward look at where I'll be and what's coming up across the region. Whether it's a council meeting, a social evening, or a regional gathering, I'll keep this as up to date as I can so you always know what's on. If you spot something you'd like to be part of, or if you have a question about any of the events listed, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
